Picture of the Year Finalist #11

CLIMAX BB7100 Line Boring Large-Diameter Bores on Heavy Mining Equipment

Congratulations to Coleton McKinsey from Pro Line Machining (Gillette, Wyoming, USA) for this impressive finalist entry showcasing the CLIMAX BB7100 Line Boring Machine in action.

Using the BB7100, Coleton oversized cam brass for a long-time customer on a Bucyrus-Erie 2570W. The project involved line boring an outboard bore measuring approximately 44 inches in diameter, along with a secondary bore of 33 inches, demonstrating the machine’s capability on large-scale equipment.

This image shows the hands-on experience needed to perform line boring work on large-scale equipment in real field conditions.

Let’s celebrate the dedication and expertise of on-site machinists and fabricators around the world!
